Riot Games highly anticipated fighting game, 2XKO, has been in development for some time. While fans have eagerly awaited updates, Riot has finally broken the silence with a comprehensive one-hour video detailing the game’s progress, upcoming features, and release timeline.
Alpha Lab 2 is Coming
According to a post by Audrey Miano on Riot Games’ official blog, the next phase of testing, Alpha Lab 2, is set to launch soon. Unfortunately for many fans, it will be limited to players in the United States, Canada, and Brazil. However, Riot has shared details on the exciting new content that will be available in this testing phase.
Jinx Joins the Roster
One of the biggest announcements is the final addition of Jinx to the 2XKO champion lineup. Alongside her inclusion, Riot also revealed her full move list, allowing players to get a glimpse of her playstyle and abilities.
Ranked Mode Arrives
Another major feature coming in Alpha Lab 2 is the introduction of Ranked Mode. Riot Games has confirmed that players will now have access to a structured ranking system, which will include the following tiers:

This ranked progression system aims to provide competitive depth and long-term engagement for players.
New Fusion Mechanics
One of 2XKO’s standout features is its Fusion system, which allows for unique synergy between characters. In Alpha Lab 2, two new Fusion types are being introduced: Helper and Colossus.
Helper Fusion
With Helper Fusion, the active champion and the assist champion will not swap positions. Instead, the active champion will receive bonus health and defense when HP falls below 30%. Additionally, the assist champion will provide special abilities:
- Access to Dynamic Duo, enabling a super move follow-up immediately after their teammate’s attack.
- Assist super move and Rage Break at the beginning of each round.
- Damage reduction when timed correctly against enemy attacks.
- Starts with one super meter bar and can accumulate up to five.
Colossus Fusion
With Colossus Fusion, assist abilities are completely disabled, and character swaps only happen at the start of each round. The active champion will gain significant buffs, including:
- Increased total HP.
- Higher defense when HP drops below 30%.
- Rage Break access at the start of the round.
- Eject mechanic, allowing them to force the opponent’s assist champion into play using meter.
- Dynamic Duo access, enabling two consecutive super moves.
- Starts with two super meter bars and can hold up to five.
