Barça Esports has officially announced its entry into the VALORANT scene, marking another significant step in the club’s expansion within the esports world.
This Monday, the renowned Catalan club unveiled the lineup that will represent it in Riot Games’ popular shooter, specifically in the VALORANT Challengers Spain: Rising. The team, led by coach Lucas Rojo, comprises a blend of national talent and experienced players.
The Inaugural Team
The starting lineup for Barça Esports in VALORANT includes Antonio “Guardy” Guardiola, Victor “KPZET” Steensgaard, Jakub “maniek” Mańkowski, Daniel “Saiz” Ruiz, and Tomas “Vorwenn” Baldrich.
Alongside Lucas Rojo as the head coach, the team will also have Juan Carlos “MeisoN” in the technical staff. The squad’s debut is set for January 15 at 18:00 against ZETA, coinciding with the inaugural season of the VALORANT Challengers Spain: Rising.
A Blend of Youth and Experience
The newly formed team, while young, boasts significant experience in the VALORANT Challengers circuit. Lucas Rojo previously led Case Esports to victories in two seasons of Rising.
Player “maniek” also comes with a championship pedigree, having won the regional Surge league twice in 2022 with Anonymo Esports and TENSTAR. The addition of local talent like “Vorwenn” adds a personal touch to the team, with him expressing his excitement and commitment as a Catalan native.

After its official entry into VALORANT on December 21, Barça Esports continues to diversify its presence in competitive gaming, following ventures in Hearthstone, eFootball (formerly Pro Evolution Soccer), Rocket League, and League of Legends.

While achieving success in games like Hearthstone and Rocket League, the club is still pursuing its first major title in Riot Games’ esports. Their debut in the Superliga of League of Legends in January 2022 showed promise, and now, with VALORANT, they aim to reach new heights of success.
