Overwatch 2 game director Aaron Keller has unveiled some of the hero adjustments arriving with the upcoming season 10 update, set to roll out next week. Here’s a breakdown of the changes players can expect, including tweaks to the new hero, Venture, and buffs for several tanks.
Venture Tweaks
Following Venture’s playtest last weekend, the development team has decided to make some minor adjustments to ensure optimal gameplay experience.
While Blizzard is pleased with Venture’s initial kit, they are shifting some burst damage into damage over time and reducing the vertical knockback of Tectonic Shock. Venture’s balance is reportedly solid, and Blizzard is considering an early release into Competitive Play.
Hero Nerfs and Buffs
Sombra will receive a minor nerf to her Virus damage over time, while Tracer will be adjusted to make her slightly easier to punish, encouraging more precise play from DPS players. Tanks like Reinhardt and Junker Queen will see buffs to their Ultimate abilities, with significant changes planned for Wrecking Ball to enhance his tank capabilities.
Support Hero Adjustments
Moira, Lucio, Illari, and Lifeweaver are among the support heroes receiving tweaks in power distribution, maintaining their overall power budget while adjusting specific abilities. Illari will undergo a slight nerf to her primary fire recovery time but will receive a healing per second boost.
A new Developer Update video, scheduled for release on April 10, will provide additional information on Competitive Play changes and initiatives to foster a safer and more inclusive Overwatch experience.
