Trainers in Mexico will have the chance to earn their ticket to Honolulu at the Pokémon GO Qualifying Tournament.

Niantic has announced that the Pokémon GO Qualifying Tournament in Mexico City will take place from May 11 to 12, 2024. The venue will be Casa Battler, a competitive gaming space located in Colonia Roma. Tickets for this event, both for participation and spectators, are already on sale.
Purpose of the Tournament: Securing a Spot
As the name suggests, this tournament is designed for trainers in Mexico to earn their spot in the World Championship in Honolulu. Starting this year, qualifications for the world championship are awarded to players who earn 300 Championship Points. Thus, the Mexico City tournament will distribute points as follows:
- 1st place: 200 Championship Points
- 2nd place: 160 Championship Points
- 3rd – 4th place: 130 Championship Points
- 5th – 8th place: 100 Championship Points
- 9th – 16th place: 80 Championship Points (if 48 players participate)
- 17th – 32nd place: 60 Championship Points (if 80 players participate)
- 33rd – 64th place: 50 Championship Points (if 128 players participate)
- 65th – 128th place: 40 Championship Points (if 256 players participate)
Additional Prizes and Goodies
Top-performing players will receive additional prizes, while all participants will receive a welcome kit containing promotional items from Niantic and Pokémon GO.
