Recently xQc, in a rebroadcast, ignited again the great debate about which game is better between League of Legends and Dota 2.
xQc reignites the debate on which game is better between League of Legends and Dota 2
Last May 11, the popular content creator made a broadcast playing Dota 2 with his friends. In said rebroadcast, he made some comments that brought back to life a debate that has been raging for years.
According to xQc’s comments, Dota 2 is a game with “more soul.” So all the game fans have identified very with the content creator’s comment.
In turn, xQc commented that although he likes Riot Games’ games, from his point of view, they are video games with soul.
Then the content creator reaffirms his point of view by commenting that the games developed by Riot Games lack essence. They exist. At that moment, he zooms in on one of the heroes of Dota 2 so that each of the viewers of the broadcast can observe the level of detail in each Dota 2 character.
It is important to comment that xQc has always shown how much he loves the MOBA developed by Valve. The love for the game could be seen in xQc’s Twitch report for the end of 2022. That report shows that one of the most watched categories by the content creator is Dota 2. On the other hand, xQc on his channel had already done one or the other broadcast. However, he does not do them frequently.
Future of Dota 2
Recently Dota 2, despite having introduced a patch, has suffered much criticism from the gaming community, and the number of players has dropped. So comments from content creators such as xQc can generate the attention of a new audience and be very beneficial for the game in the future. First, however, let’s remember that Dota 2 developers have not been known for making many efforts to promote the game.
Comparing Dota 2 player statistics with those of League of Legends shows that Dota 2 has not worked in the same way to promote itself.
League of Legends, since its launch, has worked very well in its advertising sector and, consequently, has attracted a large player base, surpassing the player base of Dota 2, which was launched before LoL.
Dota 2’s newbie player base is very small, as it has become a haven for veteran players. But with comments like xQc’s, new players may be coming to the Dota 2 servers.
