Scott Mercer is retiring from Blizzard. He has worked for the company for 26 years. The long-time game designer worked on games such as Starcraft, Warcraft III and Overwatch 2.
Scott Mercer, best known for his work on World of Warcraft, has decided to retire after more than 2 decades of game development. He shared this in a recent tweet in which he briefly recalled his time with the team. In the same message, he commented on his future plans, in which he plans to focus solely on his physical and mental health.
Scott Mercer’s career at Blizzard
Scott Mercer started his career as a game tester in 1998 and slowly but surely made a name for himself as a prominent figure in the gaming industry. Those who enjoy gaming Overwatch and World of Warcraft owe much of the gaming experience to Scott. Scott Mercer’s path to becoming a well-known game designer has been a long one and didn’t exactly start out glamorous.
