CS:GO roster changes continue: Vitality, Liquid, Astralis & more

The CS:GO team switching madness isn’t over yet! Orgas are saying goodbye to old legends and bringing in fresh new talent to the lineup.

This time Apeks, paiN, Vitality, Complexity, Liquid, Spirit and MOUZ have announced NXT roster changes and so that you don’t lose the overview, we have summarised everything for you here!

Apeks

Apeks has extended the contract of its IGL Damjan “kyxsan” Stoilkovski, despite other teams being interested in him, according to Anders Kjær, Apeks’ Head of Esports. He has been with the European team for six months, replacing Richard “shox” Papillon at the time.

The extension now comes after their fairytale run at the BLAST.tv Paris Major. After defeating teams like Liquid and Ninjas in Pyjamas, Apeks made it to the semi-finals. However, there are rumours that Apeks’ star player Justinas “jL” Lekavicius will join NaVi.

paiN

Things are also changing at paiN as Gabriel “NEKIZ” Schenato has announced that he is no longer in the team’s active lineup. This move comes after reports that paiN are looking to get Lucas “lux” Meneghini from Fluxo and also promote their Academy players.

Most likely, Cássio “cass1n” Santos will be promoted to the main roster and then the lineup will look like this for now:

  • Wesley “hardzao” Lopes
  • Rodrigo “biguzera” Bittencourt
  • Felipe “skullz” Medeiros
  • Romeu “zevy” Rocco
  • Henrique “rikz” Waku (Coach)
  • Gabriel “NEKIZ” Schenato (benched)
  • Vinicios “PKL” Coelho (benched)

Vitality

Team Vitality has announced that they will part ways with Peter “Dupreeh” Rasmussen. In his place, OG’s Rifler Shahar “flameZ” Shushan will join the team, but it is not yet clear what will happen next for Dupreeh.

He can definitely look back on a glorious career, as Dupreeh is the only player in CS:GO to have won five majors. Vitality’s lineup so far looks like this:

  • Emil “Magisk” Reif
  • Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut
  • Shahar “flameZ” Schuschan
  • Dan “apEX” Madesclaire
  • Lotan “Spinx” Giladi

Astralis

After the initial rumours, Astralis has officially announced the signing of two new CS:GO team members: Johannes “b0RUP” Borup and Victor “Staehr” Staehr. This means that IGL will give Lucas “gla1ve” Rossander and Alexander “Altekz” Givskov will return to the Academy Team.

Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz is the only player from the classic Astralis line-up still on the team. Andreas “Xyp9x” Høsjleth is brought back to the Main Team from the Astralis Talent Roster. Astralis has not revealed who will be the team’s new IGL, but it is believed to be Benjamin “blameF” Bremer. This is the new Astralis roster:

  • Victor “Staehr” Staehr
  • Christian “Buzz” Andersen
  • Johannes “b0RUP” Borup

Complexity

Complexity and Team Liquid have officially completed a transfer that will keep one of North America’s biggest Counter-Strike stars in NA. Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski will be moving from Team Liquid to Complexity.

The move will see EliGE reunite with former Liquid teammate Michael “Grim” Wince and join forces with Norwegian AWPer Håkon “hallzerk” Fjærli. With the signing of EliGE, Complexity has decided to drop Justin “FaNg” Coakley from the Main Team.

Liquid

Team Liquid have decided to switch regions and are looking to field a majority European roster. To do so, they have parted ways with their long-time star player EliGE and picked up Aleks “Rainwaker” Petrov from 500 and Robert “Patsi” Isyanov from Spirit.

The team will have to qualify for the Major via the European RMR from now on. Liquid’s lineup now consists of these players:

  • Keith “NAF” Markovic
  • Josh “oSee” Ohm
  • Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis
  • Aleks “Rainwaker” Petrov
  • Robert “Patsi” Isyanov
  • Damian “daps” Steele (Coach)

EG

According to rumours, the Evil Geniuses will completely revamp their roster and only Timothy “autimatic” Ta would remain in the current lineup. His new teammates would be Jadan “HexT” Postma, Paytyn “Junior” Johnson, Colby “Walco” Walsh, and Jeorge “Jeorge” Endicott.

As we learned a few days ago, head coach Daniel “Vorborg” Vorborg will be replaced by Damien “maLeK” Marcel. Talks between the team and Audric “JACKZ” Jug, as well as EliGE and Aleksandr “zorte” Zagodyrenko have reportedly broken down.

MOUZ NXT

MOUZ NXT has announced that Marcus “Q-Q” Krolak-Henriksen and Henrich “sl3nd” Hevesi will be allowed to look for new opportunities in the off-season as they are not in the team’s plans for the upcoming season.

The two players were part of the team that recently climbed to 43rd in the world rankings after winning the CCT North Europe 5 with wins over Sprout, 9INE, Endpoint and B8. The current MOUZ NXT roster:

  • Jimi “Jimpphat” Salo
  • Bram “Nexius” Campana
  • Christoffer “Chr1zN” Storgaard
  • Tobias “TOBIZ” Theo (Coach)

Spirit

Spirit wants a major change in the team and is releasing three players from the lineup. Robert “Patsi” Isyanov, Igor “w0nderful” Zhdanov, and Pavel “s1ren” Ogloblin will leave the orga and only two players from the old team will remain in the roster.

Apparently Spirit wants to promote three players from the Academy roster: Myroslav “zont1x” Plakhotia, Danil “donk” Kryshkovets, and Artem “ArtFr0st” Kharitonov. Team Spirit’s current roster:

  • Leonid “Chopper” Vishnyakov
  • Boris “magixx” Vorobiev
  • Sergey “hally” Shavaev (Coach)
