Riot Games has announced a major rework for Swain, aiming to turn him into a more combat-focused mage, arriving with League of Legends Patch 14.21. This update will introduce significant changes to Swain’s kit, bringing him back to the mid-lane meta with more aggressive gameplay.

Swain Rework Goals

The rework focuses on making Swain a combat mage with a playstyle similar to Sylas. His ultimate is being toned down, but his other abilities are getting buffed to make him a more dangerous and efficient champion overall.

Riot designer David “Riot Phreak” Turley shared a preview of Swain’s upcoming changes, which will hit the PBE on October 10th and roll out to the live servers on October 23rd.

Base Stats

  • Base mana: 468 ⇒ 400.
  • Mana regeneration: 8 ⇒ 10.

Passive – Ravenous Flock

  • Healing: 3% – 6% of max HP ⇒ 2% – 5% of max HP.

Q – Death’s Hand

  • Damage: 65-145 ⇒ 60-160.
  • Mana cost: 45-65 ⇒ 42-50.
  • Ability Power scaling: 40% ⇒ 45%.
  • Additional lightning damage: 15-55 ⇒ 15-40.

W – Vision of Empire

  • Damage: 80-220 ⇒ 70-210.
  • Ability Power scaling: 55% ⇒ 60%.
  • Slow: 25% – 65% ⇒ 50% – 70%.
  • Slow duration: 2.5 seconds ⇒ 1.5 seconds.
  • Reveal time: 4-8 seconds ⇒ 6 seconds.

E – Nevermove

  • Removed outgoing damage.
  • Explosion damage: 35-75 ⇒ 80-240.
  • Ability Power scaling: 25% ⇒ 60%.
