As one of the most anticipated moments for League of Legends fans approaches, Riot Games has revealed all the exciting updates and changes coming with the start of Season 2 of 2025. This season brings the return of one of the game’s most beloved themes: Spiritual Bloom.
Get ready to dive into the new gameplay experiences, item changes, and much more that will define this season’s adventures.
New Gameplay Experiences: Journey to Ionia
This time, players will be traveling to Ionia, a change of scenery from Noxus, which was featured in the previous season. Riot Games has focused on introducing significant updates that enhance the gameplay, with a special emphasis on neutral objects in the jungle.
Neutral Object Changes
Atakhan’s Transformation: The voracious and ruinous forms of Atakhan will be replaced with a new form: Atakhan Espinado. This version of Atakhan will offer more than just blood roses to the team that defeats it; they will also gain any unclaimed roses on the map. Furthermore, it will purify the team’s blood petals, transforming them into spiritual petals, offering a new tactical advantage.
Void Larvas: The Void Larvas will now take longer to spawn, appearing only once during the match. This change adds a new layer of strategy to the game, as teams will have to plan around their spawn timings more carefully.
Rift Herald Changes: The Rift Herald will now appear after 15 minutes of gameplay and will no longer have its Herald’s Gaze ability. This update alters the timing and mechanics surrounding one of the most crucial objectives in the game, potentially shifting team priorities.
Jungle and Bot Changes
Jungle Update: A major change in the jungle will allow players to automatically receive the Crush ability, improving jungle clear efficiency and making the role more dynamic.
Support Updates: The World Atlas item will now be automatically equipped to support players, further enhancing the strategic depth and roles within teams.
Loot System for Losing Teams
Another key update is the activation of the loot system, which will now trigger only for the team that is losing. This ensures that teams falling behind in the match are given a better chance to recover and re-enter the game strategically.
Exciting New Event Song: “Here, Tomorrow”
To mark the launch of Season 2, Riot Games has partnered with Lilas Ikuta, the lead singer of the famous duo YOASOBI, and renowned composer Kevin Penkin to bring an emotionally charged new track to the game. Penkin, famous for his work on anime series like Made in Abyss and Tower of God, has crafted a song that will immerse players even further into the Spiritual Bloom event. The song, titled “Here, Tomorrow”, promises to be a memorable addition to the game’s music catalog and will undoubtedly enhance the gaming experience.
