Dota 2 tournaments in 2025 are far from over. While PGL Wallachia #4 is currently being played and some teams are already preparing for the next BLAST and DreamLeague tournaments, a different production company refuses to be left behind: FISSURE.
That’s why the Armenian production company has announced a new edition of its online tournament: FISSURE Universe. However, this one comes with some special features.
Official Announcement and Dates
The official announcement for this new Dota 2 tournament was made through the producer’s official Telegram channel.
In the statement, they revealed the tournament will consist of two stages set on very distant dates from each other:
Tournament Stages
Play In: May 12 to May 18
Main Event: June 30 to July 3
As noted, both stages are scheduled far apart. This is because FISSURE is using the gap between BLAST Slam III and DreamLeague 26 to run the Play-In, while the Main Event will act as a prelude to the Riyadh Masters 2025.

An Innovate Format
Although FISSURE has not fully disclosed the tournament’s format, some clues have been shared.
Confirmed Details
The Play In will be more important than in previous editions.
10 invited teams will participate, with only 2 qualifying to the Main Event.
The Main Event will feature 8 invited teams.
“We are glad to announce the fifth episode of the FISSURE Universe series. This season, you are waiting for the Play-in and Main stages right before Riyadh. We have prepared a non-standard playoff format, for which the group stage matches will be of great importance. See you on the broadcasts!”
— Dmitry Novokshonov, Head of Esports at FISSURE
$250,000 In Prize Pool
The tournament will offer a total prize pool of $250,000. It’s worth remembering that in FISSURE Universe Episode 3, BetBoom claimed the title by beating Gladiators 3-0.
