SNK Corporation has announced that the iconic character ‘Gato’ will be returning to the Fatal Fury series as a playable fighter in the upcoming Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, set to release on April 24, 2025.
This marks the return of a beloved fighter first introduced in Garou: Mark of the Wolves in 1999, where he gained fame for his unique martial arts abilities and intense backstory.
Who is ‘Gato’?
‘Gato’ is a formidable martial artist known for his dark fighting style, a result of a personal vendetta against his father, Gao. According to SNK, Gato seeks to settle scores with his father, who nearly blinded him during a previous tournament. After recovering, Gato discovered that his sight hindered his combat efficiency, leading him to fight in total darkness to achieve more precise and lethal attacks.
With the next King of Fighters (KOF) tournament approaching, Gato enters the competition with the sole aim of reaching his father and finally avenging himself. His backstory has made him one of the most intriguing characters in the Fatal Fury universe.
Voice Actors for ‘Gato’
SNK has revealed the voice actors who will bring ‘Gato’ to life in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. Yuma Yamaguchi will voice him in the Japanese version, while the English-speaking audience will hear Cory Yee portray the character.
