The International, or TI, is the main gathering of the Dota 2 community. This important tournament brings together the best Dota teams for a few weeks and is getting closer and closer.

In this tournament, teams often compete for some of the biggest financial prizes in esports history. Recall that the Dota 2 Battle Pass increases the prize pool significantly. For example, in 2021, teams fought to take home a share of the significant prize pool of over $40 million. On that occasion, the winning team took home $18 million.

This tournament is getting tighter yearly, and the battles are much more heated. That is why fans look forward to TI every year to see how a team is crowned champion and register their name in the history of Dota 2.

All the details of Dota 2 The International 2023

On October 14, 2023, begins the adventure for The International 2023. This day starts the group stage. According to Valve’s information, IT has a different structure and schedule this year. 2023, there will no longer be two weeks of matches, but the competitions will take place on three consecutive weekends.

On the other hand, the group stage will be a little different. Now, the teams are divided into four groups. Remember that previously, they were divided into five groups. The worst team will be eliminated this year, and the other teams will go to the playoffs.

Eight teams will start in the top group and eight in the bottom group, the 16 teams that will advance to the playoffs. The top four from the top and bottom brackets qualify directly for the tournament’s main stage. The other eight teams, meanwhile, must go to a second knockout round.

This year, the city of Seattle, Washington, United States, will welcome The International, Dota 2’s most important tournament. In the knockout phase, Dota 2 fans can watch the best teams battle it out at the Seattle Convention Center Summit Building. Teams qualified for Dota 2 The International 2023

Teams competing in Dota 2’s The International 2023 qualify through the Dota Pro Circuit. However, the top 12 teams from the last Major receive a direct invitation to Seattle. The rest of the teams receive points based on the results obtained in each region in local tournaments and the season’s Major.
