OG’s Struggles Continue: Eliminated from PGL Wallachia Season 4 Qualifiers

13. February 2025 by Valentin Pasetti

OG, the two-time The International (TI) champions, faced another setback after being eliminated from the PGL Wallachia Season 4 Western European qualifiers. Their exit came after consecutive losses to Team Secret and Night Pulse, marking another disappointing chapter for the storied Dota 2 organization.

OG’s Road to Elimination

OG’s hopes of qualifying for the prestigious PGL Wallachia Season 4 ended abruptly in the qualifiers. The first hurdle was against Team Secret, with whom OG shares a long-standing rivalry. Despite the nostalgia of the matchup, OG couldn’t find their footing, and Team Secret quickly overpowered them, forcing OG into the lower bracket.

In their next match, OG faced Night Pulse, an Eastern European stack that had come through the Open Qualifiers. Unfortunately, the result was much the same.

OG suffered another defeat in a three-game series, sealing their elimination from the qualifier and dashing hopes of qualification for PGL Wallachia Season 4. This outcome was particularly painful for OG, considering they had qualified for PGL Wallachia Season 3.

Roster Changes and the Start of 2025

OG entered 2025 with high hopes after Sébastien “Ceb” Debs returned to the active roster and Tamir “daze” Tokpanov was introduced as the new position four player. Daze is a 19-year-old talent who previously played for Natus Vincere Junior. OG confirmed that this would be their lineup for the entire year, signaling a commitment to building a stable team going forward.

OG’s current Dota 2 roster includes:

  • Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon
  • Leon “Nine” Kirilin
  • Sébastien “Ceb” Debs
  • Tamir “daze” Tokpanov
  • Jian Wei “xNova-” Yap

A Rocky Start to 2025

Unfortunately, 2025 has not been kind to OG so far. Their recent failures to qualify for major events like DreamLeague Season 25, ESL One Raleigh, and PGL Wallachia Season 4 have fans worried.

Despite a glimmer of hope when they qualified for PGL Wallachia Season 3, the team faced a tough time in the Tier 3 Southeast Asian event, where they placed third behind teams like The MongolZ and Execration.

OG’s journey over the last year has been underwhelming, especially considering the high expectations for the two-time TI champions. With no victory since 2022, OG has struggled to qualify for Tier 1 events, and their 2025 journey is shaping up to be similarly disappointing.

Looking Ahead: What’s Next for OG?

Despite the setbacks, OG is not giving up. The team confirmed that their roster is now “locked in” as of February 7, meaning no further changes will occur for the rest of 2025. This stability could be key to finding success, as the mix of veteran experience and fresh talent in daze could bring a much-needed spark to the team’s performance.

OG’s next challenge comes with the FISSURE Universe Episode 4: Western Europe Closed Qualifier, starting on February 13. After that, OG will head to Bucharest to compete in PGL Wallachia Season 3 in March, hoping to bounce back and regain their former glory.

Conclusion

OG’s struggles continue as they face another year of disappointments, but with a locked-in roster and a chance to regroup, fans are hopeful that they will find their stride. The team’s next challenge is right around the corner, and the journey to redemption is just beginning.
