As the pro scene prepares to switch from CS:GO to CS2, the scandals don’t stop in the competitive scene. Recently, player Chloe “KittyTM” Gearney was embroiled in controversy for racist comments. As a result, she has been banned from GamerLegion.

GamerLegion’s CS:GO pro player gets kicked off the team

KittyTM, the CS:GO player of the female squad of GamerLegion Prism, the new ESL Impact team, has been kicked off. The organization discovered that KittyTM had made racist comments in some games before joining the team. These comments have cost the player her contract with GamerLegion.

GamerLegion is looking to make an impact on the professional scene. That’s why they have ventured into the women’s CS: GO scene with a solid project called GamerLegion Prism, of great talent. The German organization announced the roster formerly known as “Let Her Cook” last September 23 but will have to make further adjustments to the squad after leaving out one of the players.

Announcement of KittyTM’s departure from GamerLegion

Yesterday, September 25, GamerLegion informed on their X/Twitter account that they had news about their CS:GO women’s team. Along with that message, they have published an official statement.

In GamerLegion’s statement, the organization comments the following:

“We strongly reject the discriminatory comments and behavior made by KittyTM. For this reason, the organization has decided to separate itself from the player immediately.”

On the other hand, in the statement, GamerLegion apologizes to everyone who may have been affected by KittyTM’s comments. The organization states that they are dedicated to growing and inspiring female gamers to follow their dreams regardless of gender.

GamerLegion immediately dispenses with KittyTM’s contract after seeing screenshots on social media allegedly showing a racial slur while playing a game.

One of the screenshots was posted on Saturday, September 2, in response to an article published by UKCSGO of Counter-Strike. It is important to note that that image was made public more than three weeks before the announcement of GamerLegion Prism.

GamerLegion’s arrival in the ESL Impact league

GamerLegion joined the ESL Impact league last September 23 after acquiring the “Let Her Cook” squad. This squad had advanced to the fourth season of the women’s CS:GO league through the open qualifier. It is important to note that this is GamerLegion’s first foray into the women’s competitive scene.

At the moment, the organization has not announced the player who will replace KittyTM. However, today, this team must face NAVI Javelins in the third match of the 4th season of ESL Impact. On the other hand, KittyTM has not commented on the current controversy and the team’s departure.
