Riot Games, in collaboration with The Esports Club, has announced a high-profile VALORANT tournament named Convergence, set to take place from December 14 to 17, 2023, in Bangalore, India.
This marks the first time the game developer officially participates in an international VALORANT event in India. The event will be part of the OFF//SEASON ecosystem and co-organized by Riot and The Esports Club.
Prestigious Teams Confirmed
Among the invited teams, five have been confirmed: FUT Esports, FURIA, Gen.G, Team Vitality, and Global Esports. The announcement of the final team is still awaited.
Riot Games’ Involvement in Indian VALORANT Scene
Although this is Riot Games’ first international event in India, the company has previously co-sponsored several regional VCT events, particularly the VALORANT Challengers: South Asia by NODWIN Gaming.
The Esports Club has also organized various VALORANT-focused tournaments in SEA and India, including the TEC Challenger Series and the Esports Club Invitational.
Venue and Tournament Details
The Convergence tournament is scheduled to be held at the Manpho Convention Center in Bangalore. As of now, specific details regarding the tournament’s format and prize pool have yet to be shared.

Sukamal Pegu, Head of Esports at Riot Games in India and South Asia, remarked, “The tournament is a way to thank the country’s fans for their support of the VALORANT scene. It will be a grand finale to the 2023 VCT season and more international-caliber events are expected to come to India in the future.”
