Pokémon GO is set to introduce Black Kyurem and White Kyurem during the highly anticipated Unova Tour this February. Trainers attending in-person events in Los Angeles and Taipei will be the first to encounter these powerful Fusion Pokémon, followed by a global rollout during the Unova Tour Global event.
Here’s everything you need to know about the debut of these exciting additions to Pokémon GO.
When and Where to Encounter Black and White Kyurem
The arrival of Black and White Kyurem has been long anticipated. The Fusion forms of Kyurem accidentally appeared in the GO Battle League rewards last year before being swiftly removed, hinting at their eventual debut. With the Unova Tour, Trainers will finally have the opportunity to add these iconic Pokémon to their collections.
- In-Person Unova Tour Events: Trainers attending events in Los Angeles and Taipei will get the first chance to battle and catch Black and White Kyurem.
- Global Unova Tour Event: These Pokémon will then become available in Raids worldwide, allowing all Trainers to join the excitement.
Both forms are expected to have a significant impact on GO Battle League and PvE content, making them must-haves for competitive players.
How to Fuse Black and White Kyurem
The Fusion mechanic will work similarly to Necrozma Fusion forms from Pokémon GO Fest. Trainers will need specific resources to fuse Kyurem with either Zekrom or Reshiram to create Black or White Kyurem.
- Fusion Requirements for Black Kyurem:
- 1000 Volt Fusion Energy
- 30 Kyurem Candy
- 30 Zekrom Candy
- Fusion Requirements for White Kyurem:
- 1000 Blaze Fusion Energy
- 30 Kyurem Candy
- 30 Reshiram Candy
To collect Volt Fusion Energy or Blaze Fusion Energy, participate in Raids featuring Black or White Kyurem during the Unova Tour. After defeating them in Raids, you’ll encounter Kyurem in its unfused form, which can then be fused with the required resources.
Special Moves for Black and White Kyurem
Both Fusion forms of Kyurem will feature exclusive special moves, making them highly relevant for PvP and Raids:
- Black Kyurem: Freeze Shock
- White Kyurem: Ice Burn
Although exact stats for these moves are not yet available, they are expected to have competitive utility based on similar moves introduced with Necrozma’s Fusion forms.
Prepare for Black and White Kyurem
The debut of Black and White Kyurem is shaping up to be a major highlight of the Unova Tour. With their powerful moves, stunning designs, and impact on competitive play, these Fusion Pokémon are sure to become fan favorites.
Whether you’re attending in-person events or participating in the global Raid battles, make sure to stock up on Raid Passes, Candy, and Fusion Energy to add Black and White Kyurem to your Pokémon GO roster!
