The Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival 2023 aims to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the acclaimed MMORPG. Luckily, Square Enix spoiled the community with exciting news: from the reveal of the new Dawntrail expansion to the announcement of the Xbox version. There was also room for surprises.
Undoubtedly, one of the announcements that no one saw coming was the new collaboration with Fall Guys. Thus, Final Fantasy XIV-themed content will be coming to Mediatonic’s popular free-to-play multiplayer game, and vice versa. Just as you read it, Final Fantasy XIV and Fall Guys will have a two-way collaboration event.
The collaboration between Final Fantasy XIV and Fall Guys is real
Recall that, in early 2020, the free-to-play platformer Fall Guys arrived and took the world by storm. This game is very popular for including a lot of franchises as part of its annual battle. Sometimes Fall Guys even includes game types that are completely new and limited.
This time as part of the collaboration with Final Fantasy XIV, Fall Guys will bring many items as a seasonal fame pass. Specifically, 8 FFXIV costumes will arrive, and the best of all is that you can get them for just playing Fall Guys.
Date of collaboration between Final Fantasy XIV and Fall Guys
From August 22nd until October 3rd, the Warriors of Light Fame Pass will be available in Fall Guys. During that period, players can get cosmetic items, such as skins and gestures, inspired by Square Enix’s successful MMORPG. In the official preview, we could see skins based on Namazu, Goobue, Alphinaud, Alisaie, and the ever-popular Chocobo. And in case you’re wondering, there will also be a White Mage costume as part of the Final Fantasy collaboration.
Luckily, the news doesn’t end here. We say this because Final Fantasy XIV will also receive a new mini-game inspired by Mediatonic’s competitive title. Players will be able to access it through the Gold Saucer. On the other hand, the developers refrained from revealing more details about it, but we already know that this novelty will arrive during the 6.5 patch series.
During the event, Naoki Yoshida shared the first official details of Dawntrail, the new expansion that will include an unpublished area with notable inspirations in Mexico. In addition, Yoshida has promised that we will see the Fall Guys in Eorzea.
Other details of the collaboration between Final Fantasy XIV and Fall Guys
On the other hand, it has been revealed that there will be competitions as part of the collaboration. Players will face off in obstacle courses modeled on the battle royale. Within the Gold Saucer mini-game, Leap of Faith could be considered a much more aggressive and competitive version. In addition, these competitions may provide players with rewards.
