These new maps are now available for all players at no additional cost, enriching the Crucible experience with fresh battlegrounds.
Breakdown of Map Additions
Destiny 2 has seen a substantial increase in PvP map content with the addition of 17 maps between seasons two and 18. Notably, the game experienced a lapse in map releases between seasons 11 and 16, with only one new map introduced in seasons 17 and 18 of 2022.
The most recent update marks a remarkable change, introducing as many new maps today as were added in the entire period from May 2022 to August 2023. This influx of new content underscores a renewed commitment to the Crucible mode after a period of relative quiet.
Looking Ahead
As players anticipate The Final Shape expansion, the release of these three new maps signals a promising era for Crucible content. While future map additions have not been officially announced by Bungie, players can expect potential updates or unvaulting of old maps throughout 2024 and beyond.
The Crucible community is excited to explore these new battlegrounds and looks forward to the ongoing evolution of Destiny 2’s PvP experience.
