The F1 Sim Racing World Championship, Formula 1’s official esports series, is set to make a comeback in April and May 2024 after a tumultuous start to the season. The league has announced dates for events via social media, with six races scheduled for April and five races for May, divided into two LAN events.
Season Restart
Following a turbulent period for F1 Esports, the 2023 season began in November 2023 but saw only one race completed. In December, the second event was abruptly canceled, and the esports circuit was put on hold shortly thereafter.
Upcoming Events
The F1 Sim Racing World Championship will resume with two events. The first event will take place from April 10th to 12th, featuring simulation races in Saudi Arabia, Austria, the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands, and the USA.
Following a short break, races will continue from May 7th to 9th, with drivers competing on circuits in Mexico, Brazil, the USA, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.
League Racing News Announcement
News of the championship’s continuation surfaced in February 2024 when League Racing News revealed that discussions had been held between team representatives and F1 officials.

Challenges and Considerations
The decision to compress the races into a short timeframe is not ideal, considering they were originally spread across the calendar from November to May. The choice to conclude the F1 Sim Racing World Championship 2023/2024 in May may also be influenced by the release of the new Formula 1 title, F1 24, slated for that month.
Growing Popularity and Recent Issues
All Formula 1 teams have official simulation racing squads in the F1 Esports series, which has gained popularity since the pandemic. However, the scene has faced numerous challenges recently, with issues surrounding communication between team representatives and fans.
