G2 Esports Defeats Sentinels to Qualify for VALORANT Masters Bangkok 2025

7. February 2025 by Valentin Pasetti

G2 Esports has officially punched its ticket to VALORANT Masters Bangkok 2025 after a dominant 2-0 victory over Sentinels in the Upper Bracket Final of VCT 2025: Americas Kickoff.

This victory cements G2’s place at the first international VALORANT event of the year, marking its third global appearance despite only joining the VCT Americas League in 2024. Meanwhile, Sentinels now drop to the Lower Bracket Final, where they must face MIBR for one last shot at securing a spot in Bangkok.

G2 Esports’ Unstoppable Run

Coming into the Upper Bracket Final, G2 had already demonstrated its strength with back-to-back 2-0 victories against Cloud9 and Leviatán. Sentinels, one of the tournament favorites, was expected to provide G2 with its biggest challenge yet. However, G2 wasted no time in proving its dominance.

  • Map 1: Abyss (13-7) – G2 opened with a blistering 6-0 lead, establishing full control from the start. The first half ended 10-2 in G2’s favor, making a comeback nearly impossible for Sentinels. Despite a slightly stronger performance in the second half, Sentinels fell short.
  • Map 2: Pearl (13-7) – This map started with a closer exchange, with G2 edging the first half 7-5. However, once G2 switched to the attacking side, they surged forward, shutting down Sentinels with another 13-7 victory.

One of the standout performances of the series came from Alexander ‘Jawgemo’ Mor, who delivered an impressive 36 kills and 16 assists across both maps, solidifying his role as a key player in G2’s success.
