The CS:GO community was shaken after seeing the outburst of Casper “cadiaN” Mller, the captain of Heroic, in the clash against TheMongolZ in the group stage of IEM Cologne.

The showdown between Heroic and TheMongolZ

In this clash, the Heroic team was completely surprised by the Mongolians. TheMongolZ defeated the number one team in the first best-of-three match. Team TheMongolZ won on Mirage by 16-11, forcing Heroic to play Overpass, their preferred map.

Then, with a comfortable 4-1 lead, cadiaN attacked back at TheMongolZ after the first turn, causing a two-on-two. This matchup prevented a comeback and increased the Danish team’s lead. Undoubtedly, cadiaN has been known for being unruly and very rowdy. This player shouted at his opponents across the room, “You fucking noobs.”

Arguably, since the invention of technology, insults have become a staple within esports. However, many within the CS:GO community have felt that cadiaN’s insult has gone too far and, within minutes, sparked a fierce debate on Reddit.

In one of the comments on Reddit, you can read how a fan states that he finds cadiaN’s insult too exaggerated. In addition, this fan comments that it is fine when the insults come from both teams, but when it is only one team that insults, it is very wrong.

On the other hand, in many CS:GO fan comments, they pointed to cadiaN as the villain of esports.

On the other hand, the comments claim that cadiaN is a sore loser. This player has completely lost control of himself when he gets angry.

But not all the messages were against cadiaN, and many people supported this player. However, others advised that CS:GO esports should follow Riot Games’ example of fining players who call others “noobs.” But another fan commented that mind wars are essential to the CS:GO ecosystem.

Apologies from cadiaN

After the match, cadiaN released a message apologizing for his insults. In addition, cadiaN claimed that he is the only player who still shouts at his opponents. He then stated that this was the last time he would insult his opponents in a game.

In the end, Heroic took the game’s victory, which ended 2-1. However, TheMongolZ showed its full potential in Overpass and Inferno, and the Mongolian team was not as easy to beat as many thought. Heroic had to show why they are number 1 in the world to get the victory. With this victory, the Danish team advanced to the top group.
