In turn, it has been reported that Ryan’s replacement will be Hiroki Totoki, the current chief operating officer and financial officer of Sony Group Corporation. Totoki, meanwhile, will take the reins of the presidency of SIE in two stages. The first stage begins in October this year. Subsequently, in April 2024, Totoki will be appointed as the company’s acting CEO.

Jim Ryan’s Career
The 63-year-old entrepreneur began his career at Ford, Amstrad, and Oracle before joining SIE’s European legal department. Over the years, Jim Ryan rose through the ranks to become president of the company. Since then, Ryan has held various positions at the video game giant. He also served as the top sales and marketing manager in these positions.
Since 2018, Ryan has been the president and CEO of SIE, and in that role, he oversaw the launch of the PlayStation 5.
