League of Legends Swarm mode introduces a unique gameplay experience with a selection of hand-picked Anima Squad champions. Each champion comes with distinctive abilities and equipment, adding variety and strategy to the game. Here’s a guide on how to unlock all the champions available in LoL Swarm.
List of Playable Champions and How to Unlock Them
1. Jinx – Battle Cat Jinx
Starting Availability: Unlocked by default
Unlocking Requirements: Available at the start of LoL Swarm
Abilities:
- Passive: Provides increased Movement Speed and Ability Haste for a limited time after defeating 75 enemies.
2. Seraphine – Battle Dove Seraphine
Starting Availability: Unlocked by default
Unlocking Requirements: Available at the start of LoL Swarm
Abilities:
- Passive: Grants occasional multi-cast
- Active Skills: Supportive in nature
3. Leona – Battle Lion Leona
Unlocking Requirements: Upgrade the Searing Shortbow weapon to level 2
Steps to Unlock:
- Choose Searing Shortbow twice in a single run to upgrade it.
Abilities:
- Passive: Provides additional damage based on her tanky stats
4. Illaoi – Battle Bear Illaoi
Unlocking Requirements: Upgrade Radiant Field to level 4
Steps to Unlock:
- Use the Health Fountain in the Warehouse District map four times to unlock Radiant Field for future runs.
- Pick up Radiant Field at least four times in your next run.
Abilities:
- Unique Mechanic: Spawns tentacles on the ground to hit nearby enemies instead of basic attacking
5. Briar – Primordian Briar
Unlocking Requirements: Beat The Outskirts map and defeat its boss
Additional Information: Completing this unlocks the Subterranean Lab map as well.
Abilities:
- Similarities: Draws from the playable Briar in League of Legends
6. Yasuo – Battle Wolf Yasuo
Unlocking Requirements: Beat the Subterranean Lab map and defeat its boss
Additional Information: This unlocks The Beachhead map.
Abilities:
- Synergy: Effective with Crit, similar to Yasuo in LoL
7. Riven – Battle Bunny Prime Riven
Unlocking Requirements: Beat the boss on Warehouse District on Hard difficulty
Abilities:
- Role: Demands high movement speed, fitting her Bunny theme
8. Aurora – Battle Bunny Aurora
Unlocking Requirements: Defeat 25 mini-bosses in Hard mode
Additional Information: Mini-bosses include large enemies resembling Kog’Maw, Nocturne, or Ornn’s Ram.
Abilities: Newest champion in LoL, bringing unique abilities to Swarm.
9. Xayah – Battle Bunny Xayah
Unlocking Requirements: Complete Bel’Veth Trials
Steps to Unlock:
- Beat The Beachhead map in Story difficulty to unlock Hard difficulty.
- Survive at least 5 minutes on any Hard difficulty map to unlock Bel’Veth Trials.
- Complete 20 Bel’Veth Trials, which can appear on any map and are announced game-wide.
Abilities:
- Difficulty: Most challenging champion to unlock
Conclusion
Swarm is currently live with LoL patch 14.14 and is scheduled to end on August 19, 2024. Riot Games has indicated they may extend the Swarm’s availability based on player feedback.
