Riot Games has announced a major rework for Swain, aiming to turn him into a more combat-focused mage, arriving with League of Legends Patch 14.21. This update will introduce significant changes to Swain’s kit, bringing him back to the mid-lane meta with more aggressive gameplay.
Swain Rework Goals
The rework focuses on making Swain a combat mage with a playstyle similar to Sylas. His ultimate is being toned down, but his other abilities are getting buffed to make him a more dangerous and efficient champion overall.
Riot designer David “Riot Phreak” Turley shared a preview of Swain’s upcoming changes, which will hit the PBE on October 10th and roll out to the live servers on October 23rd.
