McDonald’s and the South Korean esports organization Gen.G are enhancing their collaborative efforts in the United States with the launch of the “Gaming Leaders of Tomorrow” program. This initiative aims to assist students in organizing esports events, specifically in the East Coast region encompassing D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.
Program Overview
Participants in this program will receive a fixed budget to manage various aspects of event organization, including production, promotion, and talent management. They will be guided by experts from both Gen.G and McDonald’s. In addition, Coca-Cola and the Delmarva Shorebirds baseball team are set to join as supporting partners.
Certification and Career Advancement
Upon completion, students will be awarded a certificate from the “Gaming Leaders of Tomorrow” program and have the opportunity to add their event management experience to their resumes.
The Collaboration History
McDonald’s and Gen.G first joined forces in 2021 with the inaugural McDonald’s Gaming League in the U.S. Their partnership was renewed last year to expand into local markets. Gen.G has also been active in collegiate esports and gaming projects in the U.S.
