Official: Scout Cleared to Compete for LNG at Worlds 2024 and Yagao Named as Substitute

Lee “Scout” Ye-Chan has been officially cleared to travel to Europe for Worlds 2024 after resolving legal issues related to his former organization, EDward Gaming (EDG). This news comes after a period of uncertainty, as Scout was initially banned from traveling due to complications with his previous team.

LNG Scout’s Situation Unfolds

The saga began when it was revealed that Scout was aware of his travel ban months in advance but did not inform LNG Esports, leading to concerns about his availability for Worlds 2024. In the meantime, LNG turned to JDG’s Zeng “Yagao” Qi, who agreed to step in as a temporary replacement.

However, this too was subject to debate, as Riot Games’ roster lock deadline had already passed on August 16th, and LNG had not submitted a substitute.

The Travel Ban Controversy

According to EDG’s management, Scout was aware of the travel ban after the Spring Split, but LNG claims they were not informed until after the LPL Regional Qualifiers, which concluded in early September. Scout’s agency has presented a different version of events, stating they informed LNG when the player attempted to travel to Korea for a vacation.

The conflicting stories have raised questions about the timeline of events and the extent to which Scout was involved in resolving the situation. Despite the controversy, Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk helped cover a portion of the fees, allowing Scout to resolve the issue and rejoin his team in time for Worlds.

LNG Ready for Worlds 2024

With the matter temporarily resolved, Scout will be able to compete in Worlds 2024, and Yagao will serve as his substitute if needed. While the controversy remains unresolved, LNG Esports can now focus on preparing for the prestigious tournament.
