Indian communications platform TalkEsport has successfully raised $1M in a pre-Series A funding round led by Saswat Ventures. This investment will fuel TalkEsport’s growth ambitions as it aims to solidify its position as a leading media platform in the esports sector within the region.
Expansion Plans
The funding will be utilized to expand TalkEsport’s website capabilities, launch a mobile application, and establish a production studio in Bombay. The studio will focus on developing intellectual properties (IP) centered around the gaming and esports industries.
The TalkEsport mobile app will provide users with comprehensive tournament coverage, live results, and opportunities to participate in esports events, creating a centralized hub for esports enthusiasts.
Company Background
Founded in 2011, TalkEsport has emerged as one of India’s premier esports outlets, offering coverage of numerous tournaments across the country and surrounding regions. The platform has garnered significant attention, with industry stakeholders meeting the Prime Minister in April 2024 to discuss the industry’s evolution.
The growth of India’s esports sector has also spurred the creation of new ventures. In February 2024, esports veterans Abhijeet “Ghatak” Andhare and Sunny “Fea” Lohia established Trident Gaming, focusing on foundational projects within the esports domain.
