10. February 2025 by Valentin Pasetti

In a commanding performance, Tundra Esports secured victory at BLAST Slam II, sweeping Gaimin Gladiators 3-0 in the grand finals. This marks the sixth consecutive series in which Tundra has come out on top against their longtime rivals, solidifying their dominance in the competitive Dota 2 scene.

The win not only adds another trophy to Tundra’s collection but also serves as their second championship title of the Dota 2 season, setting an impressive tone for the year ahead.

BZM Shuts Down Gaimin Gladiators in Grand Finals

Tundra Esports delivered a flawless performance in the finals, giving Gaimin Gladiators no room to recover in any of the three games. One of the key factors in Gaimin’s previous successes was Quinn “Quinn” Callahan‘s strong laning phase, but Tundra systematically shut him down throughout the series.

Bozhidar “bzm” Bogdanov played a pivotal role in neutralizing Gaimin’s mid-lane presence. His standout performance came in Game 3, where he dominated as Ember Spirit, finishing with an astonishing 14-1-11 KDA. This performance cemented his status as the MVP of the finals.

When asked about strategies to counter him, bzm humbly offered a simple solution:

“I mean, they just need to ban my Invoker, my Bristleback, and I’m done.”

Tundra’s Championship Mindset

While winning BLAST Slam II is a major achievement, Tundra Esports has its sights set on a much bigger goal—long-term dominance. Neta “33” Shapira, one of the team’s most experienced players, emphasized their ambition:

“I always wanted to not just win one big tournament and then go back to being average. I always looked up to the teams that could win 4, 5, 6 tournaments in a row and be really consistent, so that’s the aim this year.”

What’s Next for Tundra Esports?

With back-to-back championship victories to start the season, Tundra Esports has firmly established itself as one of the top contenders for 2025. Their next challenge will be at DreamLeague Season 25, which kicks off on February 16th. If their current form continues, they could be on their way to an even more dominant season.
