VALORANT’s 100 Thieves team at the VCT Americas Super Week managed to pick up two important victories. However, in the match with NRG, the team could not keep up the pace and ended that match with a 13-3 loss.
100 Thieves coach says the team is not doing a good job of preparing with Cryocells
Many fans hoped the team’s new star would help them win more. However, 100 Thieves’ VALORANT coach Michael “Mikes” Hockom has commented in an interview that Matthew “Cryocells” Panganiban, the team’s new star, is not getting the support he needs from his teammates.
He also claims that from a statistical point of view, Cryocells has had a bad run. However, since Cryocells’ move from XSET to 100T, his numbers were affected just before his main Chamber agents received a major Nerf.
On the other hand, Mikes says that players always have pressure. However, 100T’s playstyle is not focused on the star player getting dozens of kills in a match. Instead, the team ensures every single player gets a chance to shine. However, if the duelists are not prepared, the team declines greatly. So Mikes assures that when the team has good preparation, it has excellent results in their matches and is among the best teams in the world.
At the same time, the 100T coach comments that when reviewing the attack rounds in the first games against Sentinels and C9, they realized that the new player was rushing and no one was following him, so he had no support. So even if he is the best player in the world, it is very difficult for him to kill three opponents while they all shoot at him simultaneously.

The annoyance of the 100 Thieves coach
Considering the comments made by coach Mikes and that, to a large extent, the success in a game is based on the success of the initial duel; we can understand the coach’s annoyance.
According to Cryocells, the initial duel success statistic is 47%. But, according to Coach Mikes, these statistics demonstrate the team’s lack of unity and teamwork.
Mikes comments that during the match with NRG, the team’s players were focused on executing individual plays. However, their opponent was much more united and was able to take advantage of every mistake made by 100 Thieves.
On the other hand, Mikes assures that the team wasted many of the rounds and they lost them. Consequently, the team’s economy was affected, and at that point, it wasn’t easy to regain control of the game.
Right now, 100 Thieves needs to play better than ever. They need two wins in their last three games to clinch a playoff spot. After that, the team must face LOUD, FURIA, and MIBR, three great teams in the VCT Americas.
