After experiencing his rookie season, VALORANT’s star player has been nominated in three different Esports Awards categories. The player we are talking about is Max “Demon1” Mazanov, who has had an incredible rookie season.
Demon1 has come to VALORANT Esports to blow the whole community away. This player is one of the few players in the history of esports who successfully overcame his rookie season. Remember that Demon1 arrived at the VALORANT team of Evil Geniuses in the middle of the season. Since then, he has become a key player for his team to advance to the world title.
Demon1’s rookie season
As we have already mentioned, Demon1’s rookie season is amazing. This player not only has the important Champions 2023 trophy in his palmares, but he also took home the Champions MVP award. But it doesn’t end there. VALORANT’s NA superstar had the most Esports Awards nominations among all players, along with Team Vitality Rocket League star Alexis “Zen” Bernier.
Demon1’s Esports Awards Nominations
Max “Demon1” Mazanov has been nominated in the following categories:
- PC Player of the Year
- Revolution Player of the Year (best rookie)
- Team of the Year, as a member of Evil Geniuses

Demon1 and Zen were equal with Scump in the number of total nominations this year. However, it is important to note that all CoD legend nominations are in the content creator category, not as a player. So Demon1 and Zen are the only players to get all the nominations in the categories they could be nominated for.
Next season for Demon1
Despite Demon1’s amazing season with his EG teammates this 2023, many assume the squad might split up. According to reports, EG has apparently informed their players that they must agree to a pay cut to stay playing with the organization. On the other hand, they are also reportedly resorting to costly buyout clauses, thus preventing players from leaving for unrestricted free agency. With all this information, it seems unlikely that the entire roster will remain the same for next season. On the other hand, EG coach Potter has also been nominated for the Esports Awards as coach of the year.
In case Demon1 takes all the awards he is nominated for, this may mean that other organizations are willing to pay a very high price to take him to their team. Or even EG may have to pay a higher price to keep one of its stars on the team.
