The PGL Wallachia #3 Playoffs have begun, and the competition is heating up in this first Dota 2 tournament organized by PGL in 2025.
A total of eight teams entered this final stage, but as of today, two teams have already been eliminated. Let’s analyze the matchups and determine who has the best chances of lifting the trophy.
First Teams Eliminated
The first casualties of the Playoffs were Team Tidebound from China and Gladiators from Europe, both of whom suffered elimination after losses to Aurora and Team Spirit, respectively.
- Team Tidebound struggled throughout the Playoffs and failed to replicate the strong performance they showed during the Swiss Stage.
- Gladiators showed promise but ultimately faltered due to costly mistakes. Despite securing early leads in both of their games, they suffered back-to-back comeback losses, sealing their fate in the tournament.
Upcoming Matchups in the Playoffs
Xtreme Gaming (3.14) vs Team Spirit (1.34)
One of the most highly anticipated matchups will once again feature Yatoro vs Ame, reigniting the rivalry between the student and the master.
While Yatoro has proven he can defeat Ame, these encounters have historically brought unexpected surprises. However, given Team Spirit’s dominant form, they are favored to win against their Chinese opponents.
Tundra (1.24) vs Aurora (3.86)
Tundra’s descent into the Lower Bracket has been one of the tournament’s biggest surprises.
- Bzm has underperformed, struggling to maintain his usual level.
- Dyrachyo has shown inconsistency, reminiscent of his earlier career struggles.
- Even 33, Tundra’s standout player, has had difficulty maintaining his usual impact.
Despite these setbacks, Tundra remains the superior team in both individual skill and overall strategy, making it unlikely for Aurora to cause an upset.
Team Liquid (2.88) vs Falcons (1.57)
This matchup is shaping up to be one of the most evenly contested battles of the tournament.
- Falcons shocked everyone by defeating Tundra.
- Team Liquid has been improving steadily throughout the tournament.
There is no clear favorite in this battle, but Falcons hold a slight advantage due to ATF’s dominance over Saberlight in the offlane.

Who Will Be the Champion?
Unlike other tournaments, this event has proven difficult to predict. While many teams have showcased strong performances, Team Spirit remains the top contender despite occasional struggles.
Their path has been more challenging than expected, but they still possess the experience, skill, and composure necessary to secure the championship.
